I had every intention on experimenting with the Moscato like I did with my last sampling of flipflop wines when I made a tasty peach sangria; however, hubbyman and I decided to pack up a bottle of Moscato from flipflop wines to enjoy one evening on vacation while the kids were in bed. It ended up being a nice romantic evening on our patio at the Hotel del Coronado with the ocean shining in the moonlight as we celebrated my birthday a couple weeks early (really it’s tomorrow).
We had every intention of ordering room service, but we were too tired to even do that. So we just cuddled up on our balcony and had a couple glasses of wine while we finished off the last of the brownies I brought with us. I realize that brownies aren’t the ideal choice for pairing with a nice bottle of wine, it was all we had and so we enjoyed it!
I really, really enjoyed this wine. It was crisp and sweet. Really it should be paired with something more along the lines of Pad Thai or chicken salad, but it was nice just to sip on after a day of playing on the beach while we relaxed…too bad we couldn’t sneak down to the hot tub while the kids slept (maybe when they are older).
Besides the price point of the flipflop wines, only $7 per bottle; I love that on the back of the bottle they give you all you need to know about the wine. What it tastes like, what it goes well with, and the nice little chart so you know exactly what you are getting. Besides, it will make you look really smart in front of all your friends.
Hubbyman has already picked up another bottle of the Moscato for my birthday celebration tomorrow night. Can’t wait!
