I’ll admit it! I love Bisquick…I know I shouldn’t, but it is just so convenient and honestly…doesn’t taste that bad. With that said, it does have a lot of ingredients, so a few years ago I set out to make my own Homemade Bisquick.
It is so easy to make your own and it will last in your pantry for months. I was shocked at how easy it really was to make my own and I am able to control the quality of the ingredients…if I want 100% organic, I can do that. If I want a whole wheat version, I can do that. I bet a gluten free version could be made as well.
Homemade Bisquick
2 cups flour
¼ cup shortening
1 tsp salt
2 tbls baking powder
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and beat with mixer on low until it is the consistency of bisquick. Use in any recipe where you would use regular bisquick.
