I tried this recipe, with a couple of twists –I used 2 c toasted pecans and walnuts, substituted maple syrup for the corn syrup and used 1/2 c brown sugar (no granulated sugar). I also added a pinch of cardamom. I also heated the filling in the microwave and then added the nuts, so it was hot filling going onto a hot crust, to avoid any soggy crust issues. I only used 1/2 chopped bittersweet chocolate, because that’s all I had. They were fantastic –thanks for the inspiration! Next time I might add a little bourbon or rum!
