Some people mix oil or butter with baking powder to help brown it. If so how much baking powder would you use. Have you heard about using baking powder?

If you have not cooked a turkey in an electric roaster before, just be aware that it will cook much faster than in your oven.

To get a good crisp try using duck fat. It comes in a spray can like non-stick and Walmart sells it. Works every time!

At our cabin in NC we start with a “snack” turkey that is made in the outside oil fryer. We cook 3 more this way and the big bird goes in the Rival tabletop cooker on the back porch or on the dryer inside. I too love making all the side dishes that have become tradition so it’s perfect to have oven space. Perfect every time.

Wanted to stop by and thank you for sharing my brussel sprouts recipe to go with your tasty looking turkey. I have never used a roaster, but what a great space saver for the big day. We’ve got 2 turkeys this year, so one is getting smoked and the other needs to be your version. Cheers!
