I’m so excited to share this scary face kids bento box idea with you. I like to make fun and healthy lunches for my kids because I think kids eat better when food is visually appealing. Horizon products allow creativity and variety when it comes to packed lunches. When I do the shopping for the week, I try to include the majority of food from the perimeter of the store, then get the pantry staples we need. A good tip when planning lunches is to pack things like yogurt tubes in the beginning of the week, and more shelf stable items like milk boxes and snacks closer to the weekend.
My kids love the taste of Horizon products, especially the Mac & Cheese. My son is very particular about the cheesiness of his mac- some other mac is overly processed cheesy. Horizon Mac & Cheese has plenty of protein, is made with organic ingredients, and is a smart buy. Most importantly to my kids, tastes delicious!
I like to switch things up and give my kids something other than sandwiches in their lunches. Mac & cheese is a great swap for pb&j and a perfect way to use up leftovers (if there are any!). Sometimes I make two boxes so I can have dinner on the table, and also have lunch ready to reheat for the thermos the next day. (Make sure you get a good quality thermos and heat food to safe standards as directed.) I am using an Omie Box which is insulated to allow hot and cold foods in the same box. I heated the thermos with water and then put the mac inside, making a scary face with sliced olives.
Another of my kids’ favorites for lunch is Horizon milk. They are they perfect size for packing and easy for kids to open. I have paired it with blood red berries and cute Horizon Cheddar Snack Crackers. I hope you enjoy this scary face kids bento lunch box idea as much as I did making it and the kids did eating it!
