Awesome recipe. I made chocolate treats, regular treats, and these. These were gone! Taking them to a family gathering this weekend. Thanks for giving an original twist to an otherwise familiar one.

In reply to Danielle. Hi Danielle, I've never made rice krispies treats with coconut oil before. My guess is that it would work, but not 100% sure since I've never tried it. If you go for it, please come back and let me know how it works. w-

Why is shortening requird with the chocolate?
