That is great!! Thank you so much! He has had the dairy free allergy his whole life (discovered at a trip to the ER when he turned 1) and hasn't ever really felt left out...but is just starting to get to that point. The cruise reassures us it will be great, but I was wanting to hear from someone who has experience. I plan on bringing a big pack of Oreos for him for sure, but so glad he can try some fun drinks! Thank you!!

Hi Chantalle! Y'all are going to have an amazing time. There weren't any desserts that I could have (because I have wheat & dairy allergies) so they offered me fruit one time, a sorbet I think one night, and the cake a couple times. Honestly, (and I know you probably already know this) just bring a few extra special treats for your son so he doesn't feel left out in case they can't pull sometime off. They were amazing at working with me.

Also...you could do something like virgin pina colada, if he can have coconut. The pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mixes were df on my cruise (they showed me the packaging). So just ask for virgin and they are DELISH!!! Castaway Cay has the Frozen Smoothie location which did have a couple dairy free smoothies. Unfortunately, by those options do cost a extra, but they made me feel like I was having something special on the trip.

Hope that helps. And let me know if I can answer any other questions for ya. Happy Cruisin' w-

Thank you for your article! We are sailing July 2017 (Disney Fantasy) and my son (9) is extremely allergic to dairy and also peanuts and tree nuts. Do you happen to have any more details on how they did the dairy free items? He is good with meat/fruit/veggies, but I am wondering specifically if there are desserts (that chocolate cake looks great!) He would be so bummed if his siblings get ice cream, cookies, etc every day, and he either didn't get anything, or I would need to prepare and bring something from home. Of course it is different since he can have gluten, but any info on your personal experience is appreciated! Thanks!!
