Hi Wendy, I've never heard of making candy in the crockpot before and it sounds so simple. I will have to try it soon. Today I melted chocolate to coat strawberries and I goofed the first batch because I was told to add butter and it became like frosting... too thick. Second time around, I used the chocolate only and it worked beautifully!

My mom used to make something similar--Peanut/Pecan Clusters-- (w/out white bark) when I was a kid...but not in a crockpot! Who would have thought! I like to use pecans and dried cranberries in my mom's. I wonder how dried fruit would behave in the crockpot? I'm kind of a dunce when it comes to crockpotting, to be honest!

oh...coconut sounds wonderful. i will totally try that next time! i did change the recipe just a bit...only cuz when i was shopping for the ingredients I couldn't find the unsalted nuts called for in the original recipe (it said 16oz salted and 16oz unsalted). i think it was just fine the way i made it! thanks for the yummy tip!

Its so funny that you have blogged about making this candy in your slow cooker! My mother-in-law made this candy and sent it to us. It is the excat recipe! The candy is so delicious! I could sit and eat the whole box! My husband asked her for more, and she sent us two batches. One was the recipe above and she added coconut to the second! You really need to try that! I had emergency surgery on 2/4, and she sent another batch! Totally addicting! I really need to try making this myself!

Thank you for posting the recipe. I can now save it to my favorites!!!
