Broccoli Saute’ {with Pecans and Garlic}

Hi there, I’m Rachel, the author and creator of {i love} my disorganized life. I’m so happy to be back sharing with you this sauteed broccoli recipe here at Around my Family Table.

Broccoli Saute' with Pecans and Garlic

The end of this school year has been super crazy around here. Our youngest son graduated from 5th grade {Jr high next year!} and our middle daughter graduated from high school. Not to mention my Dad had a birthday, it was Memorial Weekend and we had lots of relatives visiting from out of town as well.

With all of the running around I did and with being so busy, it was hard for me to eat healthy. As you can imagine, by the time things settled down, I was craving veggies, veggies and more veggies! Broccoli is one of my favorites, so I decided to make my Broccoli Saute’. It’s super easy to make and has a wonderful savory flavor with a hint of sweetness.

Here’s all you need:

  1. ⅓ C olive oil

  2. 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

  3. 3 medium heads of broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces

  4. ⅓ C toasted pecans

  5. ½ C raisins {regular or golden}

  6. ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

  7. Kosher or sea salt

Here’s all you do:

  1. On med-high, heat oil in a heavy skillet.

  2. Saute’ garlic until fragrant, being careful not to brown. Remove garlic from pan

  3. Add broccoli to pan and cover, cooking until tender, about 5-6 minutes; stir often

  4. Put garlic back in pan and add pecans, raisins and pepper flakes; heat through

  5. Salt to taste and serve

Pairs well with chicken and pork

I have enjoyed our time together and I hope you have, too. See you soon!

    Love this recipe. I thought the pecans were bacon. But this is better for me.

    We’re having a Burger Bash to get ready for the 4th. Come on over.

    Wishes for tasty dishes,

    I love garlic and pine nuts, and broccoli too, so this is a winner with me!

    We both love broccoli, but hubby doesn’t like it as much as I do. This could be a way to get him to eat it more often. Thanks for sharing.
