I created an entire party table for Valentine’s Day, it was full of all sorts of yummy treats, mixes, and candies. Seriously, it was a child’s dream come true.
But, to my surprise, the kids’ favorite treat on the whole table was this super simple and healthy mix of red goodies. It really is so easy to throw together as you don’t have to make any melted chocolate or other topping….it’s just a throw it all in the bowl and go! I make a double batch at the beginning of February and my kids munch on it for a couple weeks. just store it in an airtight container or a zip-top baggie and it should last through Valentine’s Day if it’s not gobbled up before then.
There are a few sugary items, but you could limit those to half of what the recipe calls for if you really want it to be healthier. However, the lack of chocolate coating plus the addition of freeze dried strawberries, chex, and raisins really does make this pretty healthy considering all the other sweets you’ll be offered.
I’ve got tons of fun treats if you are looking for another awesome Valentine’s Recipe!
