Growing up, I hated grilled chicken and I’m not sure why, but over years I’ve come to love it. I’ll eat it with just about anything, but I love creating fun marinades, glazes, and even rubs to change it up. In a pinch, I just use some garlic powder, salt, and pepper. But not today! Today, I’m excited to partner with French’s to create this amazing glaze for my grilled chicken. It will be the star of my 4th of July BBQ this year.

Y’all…it is so stinkin’ hot here this week, that I’ve sworn off cooking indoors. That means I’ve been grilling everything. Whether it’s hot dogs and burgers or pizza or steak or this Grilled Chicken with Mustard Maple Glaze or whatever you can think of…it’s going on the grill this week.

With summer grilling season in full swing, I keep my fridge stocked with a big bottle of French’s Mustard and French’s Ketchup. I use the mustard the most since it’s my favorite, but the kids prefer the sweet ketchup from U.S. farm-grown tomatoes. It’s free from high fructose corn syrup {YEAH}, preservatives, artificial flavors & colors and gluten. I use the ketchup to make the most amazing BBQ sauce and the kids dip everything in it.

As for the mustard, I love that it’s 100% natural? In fact, it’s stone ground from #1 Grade Mustard Seeds with nothing artificial, period. No no weird stuff with zero fat, calories or gluten. I use it to top my hot dogs and burgers and to make delicious marinades and glazes like for this amazing chicken.

Summer BBQ’s, including our 4th of July BBQ, are always a highlight of my year. I love firing up the grill for friends and family and just relaxing with a glass of ice tea. BBQ’s don’t have to be crazy..just good ol’ fun with a simple meal is all you need.

If firing up the grill gives you anxiety…check out my How to Grill series, especially my How to Grill Chicken.

Grilled Chicken with Mustard Maple Glaze

Yield: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Grilled Chicken will hit the spot with a sweet and tangy Mustard Maple Glaze that will make you go back for seconds!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 2 tbls prepared French's Classic Yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (pick a gluten free brand to keep the meal GF)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium high heat.
  2. To make sure chicken cooks quickly, it should be thin. If chicken breasts are thick, then butterfly them by cutting them in half. Otherwise, buy thin chicken breasts. Season both side of chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine maple syrup, French's Classic Yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce in a medium bowl. Separate glaze into 2 small bowls, one for use while cooking and set one aside.
  4. Cook boneless chicken breast on one side for about 6 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 6 minutes. Baste the chicken with glaze. Then flip again, add glaze, and continue cooking until chicken is done. Chicken is done when a thermometer reaches 165F and juices run clear.
  5. Serve with a grilled green veggie and the remaining glaze.
