Getting Fit Update

It’s been about two weeks since I started my journey to be healthier with Couch 2 5K and replacing one meal with a Lean Cuisine.  I can’t claim that I was perfect, but I did give it my best shot.

I’ve actually enjoyed my time running, unfortunately I got sick and my asthma went haywire, so I had to take a little break from the running, but I still went for walks and we went on some major hikes while we were camping last week.  I look forward to my new found alone time…even if it is kicking my tooshie.  I have some great support with IRL (in real life) friends and my online friends (like Janet from Going Crazy, Wanna Go?…go cheer her on too…she’s doing this with me).  A couple friends have suggested I go ahead and sign up for my 5K so that I stay motivated…I say let me get through week 2 first.

As for the Lean Cuisine, I’ve been enjoying those too!  I did grab a few other flavors at the grocery store one day when I couldn’t make it to Sam’s Club (check out my whole shopping trip and even more pics from the last two weeks over on my Google + page). All have been pretty tasty except for one.  LOL!  And I was quite surprised that I liked all the Asian ones.

Yeah…still craving all this yummy stuff, but the cravings are starting to go away.

Here is the Ginger Garlic Stir Fry…the one that I thought I would not like at all, ended up being my favorite!  Just goes to show that I should always give something a try before passing it off!

The Sesame Chicken was my 2nd fav!

With all of meals I had an apple (yeah, creature of habit) and a huge glass of ice water.  Even though most of these are around 300 calories, I wasn’t hungry.  I felt totally satisfied too!

So you’re wondering, “Will she keep it up?”  I’m gonna try.  It’s been a very hard, but eye-opening couple weeks.  I think I can do it.  I know I can do it!  If I ever make it to that 5K in December I will let y’all know.

  6. go! go! go! I did couch25k last winter with my husband and daughter and we all ran our first 5k together, it was a challenge for me but very rewarding. after an unrelated broken ankle this summer I am trying to get fit again…think I will start couch 25k again soon. good luck! love your blog!
