I love, love, love this dish. It is a family favorite for years. It’s not too spicy, but you can certainly adjust the spicy level to suit your taste buds. This is also my go-to dish to take as a meal for people when they need a meal. Beware: it makes a ton! The good news is that it freezes and reheats well. One reason that I really like this dish is because it is one of my “pantry meals”. Read More…
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse Potatoes
Hubbyman took me to Fleming’s a couple years ago for an anniversary supper and I feel in love with their potatoes. The next day, I started hunting down a copy cat recipe. These are a fancy version of your typical au-gratin potato. Of course, with all that heavy cream, I think these are best for a special occasion. Read More…
Easy Coffee Cake
My friend brought me a piece of this super simple coffee one morning while we were volunteering at a local food co-op. I hunted her down and forced the recipe out of her. I know scratch is best, but this is so easy, tastes great, and freezes nicely for quick breakfasts. Read More…
Ham & Cheese Puffs
These babies are super easy, cute, and tasty. The recipe comes from one of the Pampered Chef cookbooks. I don’t use all their fancy equipment, but I suppose you could if you wanted to. You can easily make them with your regular kitchen utensils.
I’ve made these several times for various parties and I never get to bring any home. You can also make the filling the night before and bake them off in the morning. They are best eaten slightly warm or room temperature the day they are made.
Breakfast Rolls
I love breakfast! And anything I can do the night before and then just bake off in the morning is my favorite type of breakfast. My family, for as long as I can remember, has been making a version of this for Christmas breakfast. Well, I like it way to much to only have it for Christmas breakfast, so I make for all the major holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, & Christmas).
I’ve changed up my mom’s original version just a little. But I would happily eat her version in a heartbeat!
Homemade Toaster Pastries
I love it when I can figure out a way to make something like a toaster pastry at home with fresh, real ingredients. These turned out so good, but they should probably be in the dessert category and not the breakfast category (despite the marketing of the ones at the store). Your flavors are as […]
Posole
For some reason our Christmas Eve tradition is Mexican food. This year, hubbyman’s aunt made a ton of yummy food. She brought over a huge pot of Posole, which is basically a Mexican version of pork stew. It was delicious. Even the kids ate it and asked for seconds. I’m warning you now that it […]
Spicy Pepitas
Holy Cow….hubbyman’s aunt brought these to Christmas Eve supper and I couldn’t stop eating them. I even managed to bring the remaining home without anyone noticing. They were so good. Did you know that pepitas are just the inside part of a pumpkin…I figured that one out just a few months ago. I found them […]

Layered Salad
I have been making this salad for years. It’s such an easy salad to make for a large group, potluck, or holiday. It’s pretty and tastes great too. I know the thought of Miracle Whip all over your salad will freak some of you out. Just try it! I am not a huge Miracle Whip […]
Cinnamon-Vanilla Coffee
My friend called me up last week, raving about what she had just made with her pot of coffee. It sounded so yummy, that I quickly made up a pot for myself. I put the baby to bed and then had a peaceful and tasty coffee house style drink without leaving my house. YUM! Thanks […]
Sweet Spiced Nuts
I attended a Ladies Holiday Treat Exchange a couple weeks ago, but I didn’t want to take the same ol’ cookies. I decided on nuts! I love nuts, especially sweet or spicy nuts…so I thought, why not sweet spiced nuts. I promise these are not too spicy…even my mother-in-law who hates spicy foods, loved them. […]
